Words from WA2EZ:
Hi all,
Just a quick note about the Public Service Event today. We had a total of 8 operators, great weather and a good time. I am enclosing a map of the race route, it changed from the last 2 years we participated and I just loved that. We had to setup our locations at that moment and to me, that is a great lesson that we would have to do if we were providing communications for a real emergency. Without hesitation, we got everyone assigned to a location and tactical callsign.
We had our first mishap, Earl KR2L received a cut on his finger and had to have 7 stitches at the ER. I talked to him this evening and he is okay. It was during our break down of the NCS that it happen, so it just reminds me that I should give a Safety Briefing at the beginning of the event.
I can tell you all, I am very proud of what the club did today. We were involved with the St Jude Run from it’s inception 3 years ago, and I look forward to the 10 year anniversary.
THANK YOU ALL THAT HELPED OUT TODAY, IT MEANS A GREAT DEAL TO OUR COMMUNITY!!!!!
