Science Fair Success – May 2, 2013

Hi All,
Just a quick note, last night the club participated in the Boulevard School Science Fair in Gloversville where Joe O’Neill KB2TJE was a judge. Edgar KC2UEZ, Howard KD2ABK and myself manned a table where we had setup an HF radio and lots of literature on Ham Radio to hand out. We had a video playing of a contest between CW and Texting, of course CW was faster and won. Joe and Howard made contacts on the HF radio and we answered many questions about our hobby and hopefully sparked some interest in some really smart young people who would make great hams someday.
Also present was Joyce Ashe, you may recall she is the widow of our former president Gary, she wanted me to relay to everyone how she has been hearing good things about the club and that Gary would be proud. To that I replied, we have great members and he laid a great foundation to work from.

Don, WA2EZ – President.
