Hurrincane Sandy and RACES/ARES Operators

Hello All,

I do not need to tell you that the storm is coming. What I can tell you is that you may be needed as RACES / ARES Radio Operators. If you are interested in helping out if one of the County EOC’s are activated, please let your RACES Officer for your county know.

If you do not know who that is, let me (WA2EZ) know and I will help out. The storm is predicted to hit NYC/NJ/PA early Monday morning with very high winds. Keep an eye on your weather outlets and keep a scanner on your favorite RACES frequency.

NYS RACES frequency is 3.993.5 click here for others.  Even though we live in different counties, RACES/ARES knows no borders, we will help where we are needed… Monday and Tuesday will likely be the worst, so keep listening…
